Once upon a time little Allen was playing by the water garden on a summers eve, when he heard a rustling sound behind him. Thinking it was hig big sister playing tricks on him he looked through the flower bushes beside the pond. There on a lily pad were fairies and piies laughing and dancing and making a tinkling sound. One of the most beautiful fairies saw him watching them. In a sweet little voice she said, "come closer." In wonder he knelt down and out out hishand. The little fairy flew into his hand and there she sat. Then she said, "come play with me and we will have such fun!" Allen thought that that would be wonderful. The little fairy in his hand was a princess and she reached up and kissed his cheeks and touched his eyelids with her wand. Allen went to sleep, and when he awoke he had been transported to a beautiful palace. It was a gold and silver palace on a lake of shimmering diamonds. There were also magnificent;y clad fairies that were eating, dancing, and playing games. Allen found himself to be the same size as the fairies and joined in on their fun. He was blissfully happy and wanted to stay there forever. Much later, when he was so tired that he couldn't keep his eyes open, his missed his mother, his father, and even his big sister. Allen cried and cried until the Fairy Queen became very angry. She put Allen to sleep. When he woke up he found himself on the ground beside the pond surrounded by his worried family. His father carried him to his bed and they all kissed him goodnight. Allen never went into the water garden alone on a summer's eve again.
