The Fairy Glenn
Once in a land far away there lived a little boy who was lonely. One evening while out playing in the woods he came upon a beautiful Glen. As he peeked through the bushes he saw fairies playing and splashing in the crystal waterfalls. They wore garments the colors of spring flowers amid their wings were iridescent like the mist. As they played each one would sing a part of a song that harmonizes together as one. The boy had never heard anything so lovely. One fairy he looked upon saw him and they all ran into the woods. The boy ran with them but they disappeared. From then on the boy lived in the glen by the waterfalls and played his flute by the light of the moon. One night a little fairy came out to play with him, and each night after they sang and dance in the moon light till dawn. At dusk one evening while he waited for his fairy friend the boy fell asleep. When he a woke the Fairy Queen was standing above him and she was angry. "It is forbidden," she said. "For a mortal to love a fairy." With that she sprinkled crystal water in his face. As if in a dream he felt himself changing, his neck, his arms, even his legs and ears all grew longer, a tail sprouted from his spine and a single golden horn grew from his forehead. Horrified at what he may find he ran to the water edge, when he saw his relection he could also see how beautiful he was and was happy and thankful for his new life. That evening as the fairies came out to play, what should they find, but a beautiful baby unicorn. From then on the boy in his new form and his fairy friend could stay together and play in the glen forever.
