Once upon a time there was a baby dragon whose name was Spryo. He lived on a hill overlooking a beautiful forest. One day his mother went out hunting and she never returned. Finally Spyro gathered up enough courage to venture out of the cave on the hill and look for his mother. He wandered all through the forest calling for her when he came upon a baby unicorn. She was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. She was crying because her mother had also disappeared. They soon became friends and set out to find their mother. They lived off wild berries and drink from crystal blue streams. As they were eating one day they saw a pair of gossamer wings fluttering in a near by bush. Thinking that it was a butterfly, the unicorn looked closer finding a beautiful fairy with her wings caught in the branches of the bush. She told them that if they would free her she would help them find their mothers. This was how the friendship of the three came to be. The fairy took them to a magic place of crystal rainbows. Staring into one of the crystals she saw a castle at the other end of the large forest. The King of the castle had trapped the mother dragon in a cave with a landslide. The knights had tied ropes across the falling rocks to keep her in. The mother unicorn, with ropes around her neck, was being led to the King by his knights. And so the three went off to rescue their mothers. The baby dragon breathed fire onto the ropes around the unicorns neck freeing her and scaring the knights. The mother unicorn being the oldest and wisest creature of the forest, knew of another way into the cave. They came upon a beautiful waterfall in the forest and the three soon understood that it was a secret entrance into the cave. They traveled a great distance through the cave with the fairy lighting their way. When they finally came upon the mother dragon she was so happy to see her baby and his friends. Then they all left the cave from the secret waterfall entrance. Even to this day the Dragon, the Unicorn, and the Fairy run and play in the forest with their mothers nearby watching over them. But, when a human comes near they all return to safety, hiding behind the magic waterfall.
